Makayla is a recent graduate from the University of Washington (UW), where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minors in Law, Societies & Justice, and Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies.
During her time at the University of Washington, Makayla was a Research Assistant in an alcohol lab in the Center for the Study of Health and Risk Behaviors (CSHRB). Here, research was conducted investigating peer influence on alcohol consumption in college-aged individuals. Makayla continued her work with UW and CSHRB post-graduation, working with a team to develop a more accurate measure of momentary affect to be applied in studies targeting cannabis use.
Makayla’s time studying gender, women & sexuality studies at UW greatly shaped her desire to integrate aspects of gender studies into her career aspirations for the future. Makayla has additionally spent time working with kids in both clinical and outside settings, and has interest in pursuing a career in Child Clinical Psychology.
Outside of work, Makayla enjoys practicing yoga, reading, cooking, and going for runs.
