We conduct practice-based research that examines what interventions work, how, for whom, and under what conditions, and how best to evaluate clinical change. In addition, by implementing research at EBTCS, we hope to provide a model that inspires others to conduct practice-based research. Above all, we believe that our commitment to research benefits our clients by fostering a scientific approach to each client’s treatment within a clinical setting that aims to provide effective, compassionate care based on the best available evidence.

As part of our commitment to practice-based research, EBTCS is part of the Behavioral Health Research Collective (BHRC), a non-profit organization that sponsors an Institutional Review Board (IRB) whose mission is to provide ethical review and oversight of research protocols being conducted in practice-based mental health settings. Staff at EBTCS were involved in the founding of this organization and also serve as BHRC IRB committee members.
