BIOGRAPHY

Mya Kwon, MPH, RD (she/her) is a Registered Dietitian with over a decade of experience, specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns.

She holds a Master of Public Health in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Washington and is committed to providing weight-inclusive, trauma-informed care rooted in the principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size®.

Prior to joining EBTCS, Mya served as the staff dietitian at Seattle Pacific University’s Student Counseling Center, where she provided nutrition and eating disorders counseling to college students navigating complex relationships with food and body. She later transitioned to a faculty role in the university’s Nutrition and Dietetics program, where she taught courses in clinical nutrition, food systems, and nutrition education and counseling.

In addition to her clinical and teaching work, Mya is a frequent speaker at conferences and in media, advocating for compassionate, evidence-based approaches to healing from diet culture. Her areas of focus include the intersection of identity and eating concerns, the impact of media and societal messaging on food and body image, and the development of self-trust through non-diet approaches and self-compassion.

As a bicultural Korean American, Mya brings a culturally responsive lens to her work and is passionate about supporting clients of all backgrounds in finding peace, nourishment, and freedom. She believes that every person deserves care that honors the wisdom of their own body and the fullness of their lived experience.
