BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Pang works with children and adolescents in the Child Anxiety Center.
Dr. Karen Pang is clinical psychologist at EBTCS in the Child Anxiety Center. She has advanced training and specialization in the treatment of anxiety and depression in children and adolescents, as well as considerable prior training in the treatment of youth across multiple clinical settings.
Dr. Pang completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington (UW), where she majored in Psychology and minored in Public Health. After graduation, she spent time working as an intake coordinator at Asian Counseling and Referral Services, as a research assistant disseminating The Incredible Years parent training intervention, and as a research coordinator for a UW research lab that examined childhood resilience and risk factors for psychopathology.
Dr. Pang received her Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology from the UW where she received extensive training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavioral Activation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Family-Based Therapies. Her research examined how culture influences the expression of depression among adolescents.
Dr. Pang completed her pre-doctoral internship via the general child track through the University of California Los Angeles, Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She elected to pursue focused training while on internship though the Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Program and the Child and Adolescent Mood Disorder Program. She is also a PEERS Social Skills Program certified provider. Dr. Pang completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Cadence Child and Adolescent Therapy in the Seattle area under the cognitive behavioral therapy track.
Dr. Pang is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington and is also a member of PSYPACT with authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT). Dr. Pang is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). Dr. Pang is a Seattle local and an avid Huskies and Seahawks fan!
