Dr. Katrina Kerrigan is a postdoctoral fellow in the DBT and Child Anxiety Centers at EBTCS.
Dr. Kerrigan first became interested in DBT while working as a Client Services Coordinator at EBTCS. Throughout her graduate experience, she broadened her knowledge of DBT applications by co-leading a multifamily skills group at EBTCS as well as disseminating DBT skills through a curriculum-based mental health intervention delivered to undergraduate students at the University of Washington. In addition to her training in DBT principles, Dr. Kerrigan received clinical training in evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She continues to have a passion for increasing the accessibility of evidence-based mental health interventions to underserved populations.
Dr. Kerrigan completed her Education Specialist degree and PhD in School Psychology at the University of Washington where she received extensive training across school, community, and clinic-based settings. In school districts across the greater Seattle area, Dr. Kerrigan implemented a variety of social-emotional interventions in individual, small group, and classroom-wide settings. In the community setting, she facilitated summer camp programs for neurodiverse youth that focused on affirming identities and building authentic friendships. In the clinical setting, Dr. Kerrigan provided individual and group therapy to children and adolescents with anxiety and mood disorders at both outpatient and intensive outpatient levels of care, including Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Intensive Outpatient Program for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. She has extensive experience working with children and families with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning challenges, and anxiety and mood disorders
Dr. Kerrigan completed her predoctoral internship with Brooks Powers Group in Seattle, Washington. Her work at Brooks Powers Group included providing diagnostic assessments and interventions to support neurodiverse children, youth, and caregivers. In addition, she partnered with school districts from across Washington State to provide psychological assessment, consultation, and intervention services to students, families, and educators to improve educational supports and outcomes. She has a special interest in partnering with educators and leveraging school and community-based supports to provide integrative care for youth and families. Dr. Kerrigan draws from her experience and training to provide services that are engaging, strengths-centered, and identity-affirming.
