Dr. Samantha Jacobson (she/her/hers) is a postdoctoral fellow in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Center at EBTCS.
Dr. Jacobson has specialized training and experience in delivering DBT to individuals experiencing suicidality, self-harm, traumatic stress and emotion dysregulation. She completed her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Seattle Pacific University where her research focused on suicide and self-injury, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized populations. She is strongly committed to the work of anti-racism and social justice, striving to provide affirming, anti-racist, anti-oppressive mental health care.
Dr. Jacobson completed her predoctoral internship training at the Greater Hartford Consortium (University of Connecticut Medicine/VA Connecticut Healthcare System) with an emphasis in DBT and evidence-based treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders. She has specialized training in other evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Dr. Jacobson enjoys providing a compassionate, validating, and empowering space to work with individuals experiencing self-harm, suicidality, trauma-related stress, emotion dysregulation, and interpersonal challenges.
Dr. Jacobson is a licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA) in Washington State (MC.61258839).
Outside of work, Dr. Jacobson enjoys painting, baking, yoga, volunteering at animal sanctuaries, and spending time with her Basset Hound, Hoover.
