BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Lincoln works with children, adolescents, and families in the Child Anxiety Center.

Dr. Lincoln draws from her experience as a teacher and training as a school psychologist when working with children, adolescents, and families. She builds on clients’ strengths while utilizing evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to reduce distress and increase functioning. Dr. Lincoln enjoys collaborating with families, schools, as well as important individuals and systems in her clients’ lives to optimize therapeutic gains.

Dr. Lincoln has experience in the assessment and treatment of youth with a range of psychological issues, including mood disorders, trauma, disruptive behavior problems, and thought disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings; however, she specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders and has particular expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals with selective mutism. She frequently incorporates families into treatment and enjoys working with parents to help them gain the skills and confidence to more effectively support their children and manage challenging behaviors.

Dr. Lincoln received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Yale University. While at Yale she was involved in research at the Yale Child Conduct Clinic (now Yale Parenting Center) under the supervision of parenting expert Dr. Alan Kazdin. After graduation, she taught middle school science in central Texas. Dr. Lincoln earned her Master’s degree in educational psychology and Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research examined the effect of neuropsychological functioning on the relationship between anxiety and disruptive behavior problems in children and adolescents. She completed her predoctoral internship in child clinical psychology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Child Study and Treatment Center through the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Dr. Lincoln is a member of several professional organizations, including the Selective Mutism Association (SMA). She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington.
