BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sorenson is a clinical psychologist in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Center at EBTCS. She has significant prior training and experience working with adolescents and adults who are suffering from emotion dysregulation, suicidality, self-harm, depression, and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Sorenson received her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychology at Lehigh University and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She then completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston, treating individuals with severe and chronic mental illness. There, she worked as a member of the DBT teams in the adult outpatient program and intensive outpatient program.

Dr. Sorenson is trained in evidence-based interventions for emotion dysregulation, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and trauma. Her clinical passions include providing culturally responsive, radically genuine therapy that helps her clients move towards change while cultivating acceptance, self-compassion, and flexible thinking.

Dr. Sorenson is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and is a licensed psychologist in the state of Washington.
