BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Gu works with adolescents and adults in the DBT Center at EBTCS.

Dr. Gu is a staff psychologist fellow in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Center at EBTCS. She has significant prior training and experience working with individuals who are suffering from emotion dysregulation, suicidality, self-harm, mood and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Gu completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology and drama at the University of California, Irvine and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Suffolk University. Her doctoral research examined learning gains at a continuing education training in Acceptance Based Behavioral Therapy for licensed therapists.

Dr. Gu completed her predoctoral clinical internship at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center/ Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/ Harvard Medical School where she worked in a DBT intensive outpatient program. She has also previously worked at Massachusetts Mental Health Center’s outpatient DBT program.

Dr. Gu is trained in evidence-based interventions for emotion dysregulation, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar, and obsessive compulsive disorder. Her clinical passions include working collaboratively with individuals to cultivate more acceptance, self-compassion, and skills use.

Dr. Gu is a certified clinician by the Linehan Board of Certification and a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).
