About Dr. Stanfill
Dr.Stanfill is passionate about providing evidence-based care in a collaborative and compassionate manner. She has expertise in the treatment of depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, trauma, grief, suicidality, and sleep difficulties. Her training and experience has included modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioral Activation (BA), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I).
Dr. Stanfill received her Bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. After serving in the U.S. Navy as a helicopter pilot for several years, she earned her Master’s and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego, CA. Her training experiences included working at Dr. Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics at the University of Washington, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospital programs (including programs specializing in adolescents, older adults/seniors, and active duty military personnel), a research center affiliated with the U.S. Navy, and a center for children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Dr. Stanfill completed her pre-doctoral APA accredited internship at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital in San Diego, CA and her post-doctoral training at The National Center for Telehealth and Technology on Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma, WA, where she specialized in behavioral activation (BA) for depression. Additionally, she has served as an adjunct professor at Seattle Central College. Before joining the DBT Center at EBTCS, she was a clinician at Associated Behavioral Health Care in West Seattle. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Stanfill has published several papers on topics related to performance under stress and mental health issues in the military.
Dr. Stanfill is a licensed psychologist in the State of Washington.
