    Dr. Watson works with adolescents and adults in the DBT Center at EBTCS.

    About Dr. Watson

    Dr. Watson is a licensed psychologist in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Center at EBTCS. She has extensive experience in the treatment of emotion dysregulation, suicidality, self-harm, mood and anxiety disorders.

    Dr. Watson completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Kenyon College, her master’s degree in psychology in education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Hofstra University. Her doctoral research examined sibling relationships and young adult psychosocial functioning when one or both siblings had a psychiatric disorder. In addition to her research on sibling relationships, Dr. Watson developed the sibling support group with Dr. Alec Miller, providing support to adolescent siblings of those enrolled in DBT multifamily skills groups.

    Dr. Watson completed her predoctoral clinical internship at Yale University in the Yale-New Haven Hospital Adult DBT Intensive Outpatient Program. She was also previously on the DBT teams at Cognitive Behavioral Consultants, The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy, and Hofstra University. Dr. Watson is passionate about working with adults and adolescents who have difficulties with emotion dysregulation, impulsive behaviors, trauma, and mood disorders.

    Dr. Watson is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).
